The Jazz Odyssey

This history of jazz, from its origins to the present, recounts the main trends which have marked over a century of Afro-American music. Each movement is placed in its historical context and a biography is provided for each important artist. Noël Balen, a former editor of Jazz Hot Magazine, has also supervised the French edition of Das gross Jazzbuch by Joachim Ernst Berendt.
